Beautiful archipelago, fishing and boating opportunities

In the vicinity of the rental cottages there are plenty of activity opportunities. In Kotka city there is a Golf course and in Porvoo and in Hamina there are the nearest ski slopes. Adventurous Kymijoki also offers white-water rafting and canoeing.

Kymenlaakso offers travelers superb outdoor, fishing and boating opportunities. Travelers can enjoy island cruises, nature parks and diverse landscapes of Kymenlaakso. Kymijoki is well known for its fish and some people say it is the best Southern Finland salmon fishing spot. From the Kymi river you can catch pike, perch, whitefish, pike-perch and bream.

At our rental villas and cottages in Pyhtää you can spend your vacation fishing. Skitunäs seaside villa and Rantakari cottage are both located just a few meters away from Baltic Sea. The sea offer good catches and unforgettable fishing holidays. Struka and Kivikoski rental cottages are located by the River Kymijoki and from the river you can get small fish with a fishing rod. You can also take your boat to the sea by the river through the unique Struka river-lock. A trip along the river to the sea is about 3 km.

Museums and lush parks in Kotka

Upstream the Kymi River, on the Langinkoski riverbank, there is the Alexander III imperial fishing lodge, which now serves as a museum. The city of Kotka also has a lot of interesting museums, lush parks and the archipelago idyll on offer. Maritime Centre Vellamo is a combination of several exhibitions, where visitors can learn about the history and present of Finnish shipping. The Vellamo museum ships docked at the pier are one of the most significant Finnish museum ships. There is the world’s oldest icebreaker Tarmo and the historic Border Guard vessel Goldeneye. A Family-friendly tourist destination worth visiting is also the Aquarium House Maretarium, where you can admire the Finnish fish.
